LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

This scripture definitely speaks to what is going in our world right now, and it shows how we should carry ourselves as followers of Jesus:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven..." - Matthew 5:43-45

We are called to be the light of the world, and to love the people who Jesus loves. Often that means loving those who we would consider our enemies - not just the people that we agree with.

We created this shirt to help share that message.

Walking in Unity

I believe that God desires to see His children walking together in unity in the midst of diversity. Our unity honors Him, and is a clear sign of His Kingdom at work in our hearts.

Our world is more divided now than it has ever been. We are divided in our theology, politics, economic status, etc. The list is endless.

If the world can see the way that we love as Christians, then they will want what we have as well. People are drawn to the message of Gospel when they see the character of Christ bearing fruit in the life of a believer.

"Why should I love my enemies?"

The answer is very simple: because Jesus loved His enemies — the ones who were the most cruel to Him. Those who betrayed and rejected Him were the ones that He laid His life down for.

We were all enemies of God at one point. The good news is that He didn't leave us that way.

"But God demonstrated His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" ~ Romans 5:8

By His grace, He set us apart and called us for His purposes. Now we can walk free with Him as sons and daughters.

If He loved His enemies, then I can love mine.

Jesus is the example.
